For the past nine years I have worked at a managerial level at the award winning Sunrise Radio (Yorkshire) – named Ethnic Media of the year 2001, 2002 and 2004 – responsible for communications, programming content, Events & Marketing. I have always believed in working the hours to do the job and in radio these can be very strange hours. I have worked as a radio presenter from the early age of ten and have always been keen to involve myself in all aspects of the radio station – from commercial production to routine office administration. I am responsible for quality control and have introduced a variety of excellence systems from health and safety to automated output monitoring systems.
In 2001 I opened and operated a restricted radio service – Mela FM – covering the Manchester, Rochdale and Oldham area for the Manchester Multicultural Mela 2001 – In this I was responsible for creating revenue, recruiting and training presenters and the promotion of Mela FM at a variety of events across the northern regions. In 2002 I also worked for a London wide radio station called Club Asia. I currently run a radio station called Masti Radio - a music led service primarily targeting young British Asians up to the age of 34 (available on DAB West Yorkshire and online www.mastiradio.com).
I have never been content to present myself as merely a voice for I am passionate about dancing and performing to all types of audiences. I have performed / hosted at all of the Melas in the North of England – Since 1996 I have been a mainstay of the main-stage at Bradford Mela which attracts crowds in excess of 180,000. I am a keen dancer with the proven ability of choreography to any type of music genre. I have also choreographed dance steps for a number of stars and music videos.
I have always had an interest in developing a career as a model. I have modelled for catwalk shows organised by AFM (Asian Fashion Magazine) as well as corporate fashion shows organised by promoters. I have also organised my own fashion shows which have been greatly applauded aswell as events such as Masti in the Market (August 2005) and my own dinner dancer events.
My passion to be an all-round performer has been stepped up a level recently with my progression into acting. I have a small acting role in a film title ‘Ruby and Diamonds’ (2004). A film which was entered and screened at various film festivals around the UK. More recently I have appeared as an extra in ‘Mischief Night’ (releasing in cinemas in 2006) and am the main lead in several Asian Music Videos's for Bhangra Artists including;

Having all this experience has made me into a media personality and this resulted in being chosen to be an Asiana (Fashion Magazine) Bachelor in 2004 (Winter Edition).
I am always trying to help and therefore was accepted to be an Independent Visitor – A befriending scheme via the charity Barnados.
I am always being interviewed by Various Organisations for my opinions on youth and surprisingly Bollywood.. more recently by Calendar TV for a piece about the International Indian Film Awards coming to Yorkshire.
I also appear on the hugely successful channel four gameshow ‘Deal or no deal’. I was on for 33 shows and I got to sit in the hotseat on 19th May. A lifechanging experience! Click here to watch highlights of my time on the show.
